The Nate Smith Basketball Club Rampage is an elite, invite only travel basketball club. NSBC focuses on the overall development of each player both on and off the court.

The Nate Smith Basketball Club provides some of the finest basketball instruction in the country. It is one of the only clubs nationally to have six former college/professional players on staff that serve as coaches/teachers and mentors.

NSBC Rampage President, Nate Smith

Nathan (Nate) Smith is a 1993 graduate of Morgantown High School and played professional basketball for four years. He was the Touchdown Club Player of the Year and First Team All-State during his tenure at Morgantown High School.

He played collegiate ball at American University (Division I) and was a four year starter. He was a First Team All Colonial Athletic Association selection and holds numerous three point shooting records in the CAA. Nate also competed in the ESPN televised National Three Point Shootout at the NCAA Final Four in 1998.

He was a GTE Academic All American and Rhodes Scholar finalist from the state of West Virginia, and a finalist for the Naismith Award at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

At American University he scored 1500 points in four years while netting 293 three pointers. His professional career began with the Washington, D.C. Congressionals of the USBL, followed by one season for AZS Lublin in the Poland First Division.

He spent two seasons at Landstede Basketball Zwolle, Holland where he holds numerous records for three pointers made in one game and in a season (11 and 146 respectively). He was one of the top shooters in the United States and in Europe.

For the past 9 years, Nate has been working with area athletes of all ages, including the WVU Mountaineers to help them improve their skills. Several of the athletes he has worked with have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional level.

Cody Loughry

Multiple-sport athlete at Grafton High … three-time all-conference selection … at Fairmont State University was third on the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game in 07-08 … recorded 20 points and six rebounds in WVIAC Tournament loss to WV State.

Kameron Law

NCAC Player of the Year 2002-03 … First Team All-NCAC … 2nd Team All-State 2003-04 … Kameron is a favorite with the younger NSBS students and his enthusiasm and energy for the the game of basketball is outstanding.

Stevie Sutherland

3-year letterman at Fairmont Senior High School (team captain) … 4-year letterman at Randolph-Macon college (captain Senior year) … one of the top college 3pt. shooters in the country junior season (53%) … AAU & Summer League coach for Morgantown High School varsity team … worked for the Hoop Group as a site director for Morgantown & Pittsburgh Jamfest AAU tournaments.

As you can imagine, travel basketball is expensive. We want to showcase our talented young athletes and don’t want any children to miss the opportunity to play due to financial hardships.

We are asking local businesses/community members to help raise money to sponsor the team. The NSBC Rampage focuses on the development of each of these young athletes both on and off the court to achieve success in basketball and beyond.

Those business/Community members wishing to contribute are encouraged to have their names recognized with an advertisement or personal message for team members.

Although the Nate Smith Basketball Club is a taxable entity, ads can be written off as an advertising expense for businesses. Business advertisers/community members will be recognized on a banner to be displayed at the Nate Smith Basketball Club training facility on a year round basis.
